2. Our Legal Commitment
We handle all personal data in strict accordance with German law and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This notice explains—using plain English—what data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
3. Data We Collect & Why
Category | Examples | Primary Purpose |
---|---|---|
Identity & contact data | Name, e‑mail address, postal address, social‑media handle | Account creation, responding to enquiries, delivering newsletters |
Content you provide | Comments, articles, media uploads | Displaying your contributions, community interaction, spam prevention |
Technical data | IP address, browser type, device identifiers, cookies | Service functionality, security, analytics |
Usage data | Page views, link clicks, time spent on pages | Understanding how our Services are used, improving performance |
We never ask for more data than we need and we never sell personal data.
4. Cookies & Similar Technologies
We use cookies (small text files stored on your device) to:
- remember your preferences (e.g. language, login status);
- keep our Services secure (e.g. by detecting spam or fraudulent log‑ins); and
- compile anonymous usage statistics that help us improve content and performance.
You can refuse or delete cookies via your browser settings, but parts of our Services may not function correctly if you do.
5. Embedded & Third‑Party Content
Articles may include embedded content (videos, audio, social‑media feeds, etc.). Such content behaves exactly as if you had visited the third‑party site directly. That site may collect data about you, use its own cookies, or track your interaction. We do not control third‑party practices and accept no responsibility for them.
6. How Long We Keep Your Data
We keep personal data only for as long as it serves the purpose for which it was collected, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted under German law (for example, for tax or accounting obligations). Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so that we can recognise follow‑up comments automatically.
7. Your Rights
Subject to German law, you have the right to:
- request confirmation of whether we process your personal data,
- obtain a copy of the data we hold about you,
- correct inaccurate or incomplete data,
- request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”),
- restrict or object to our processing; and
- withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, simply e‑mail privacy@nextidings.com.
8. Sharing & International Transfers
We share personal data only when necessary, and only with:
- service providers who help us run our Services (e.g. web‑hosting, email delivery, analytics). Those providers act strictly on our instructions and are bound by confidentiality;
- competent authorities or courts where required by German law.
We do not sell or rent personal data. Where we rely on processors outside the European Economic Area, we ensure appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) are in place.
9. Liability & Use of Information
We publish our content in good faith, but we cannot guarantee that every piece of information will be free of error or suitable for your particular needs. You are fully responsible for any decision or action you take based on the information provided through our Services. We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from the use—proper or improper—of that information.
10. Re‑Use of Our Content
You may re‑publish our articles provided you clearly credit NexTidings and link back to the original source. Any other commercial use requires our prior written consent.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy at any time without prior notice. The latest version is always available on this page and is effective immediately upon publication. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acknowledgement of the revised policy.
12. Governing Law & Complaints
This Privacy Policy and any dispute arising from it are governed exclusively by German law. If you believe your data has been handled unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in Germany, this is usually the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz of your federal state).
